My Libran Soul

The scales torture me
as every day I try to regain my balance
why was I born to this sign?
it drives my mind to distraction
it tears my heart in two

My soul fights for imbalance
as every day it seeks to tip the scales
in favour of all that is good
    all that is just
    all that is beautiful

Every act of kindness that I witness
lights a candle in my soul

Every voice raised in anger
    sees one go out

I cannot live in darkness
    it eats away at me
    it destroys me

So I live my life lighting candles

I will not rest until there is no anger
    no injustice
    no ugliness in this world

I have finally come to understand
    that the weight of evil
    is very heavy indeed
that the balance cannot be tipped
    until the darkness
    is banished, forever

Every day my soul shines a little brighter
Every day my heart is a little less broken
Every day my mind finds a little more peace

A very clever piece my friend... balance is so critical in our lives. Either too much or too little of anything leads to dislocation. Especially your candle lighting banishing evil is well taken! Well done Nigel!! Best wishes, Keith

Well now I know I've seen your comments recently but can't believe its been January since you've posted a write here at the Soup!! Could they have the dates wrong? This is beautifully done, Nigel and as my 46 yr. old Libra son would say, "Hang in there!" ... smile ...

Uplifting and positive. I wish more felt that everyday they must light a candle. Too much negativity and cruelty in this world. We need more Libra's my friend.

Don't be afraid of the darkness, you are the light in the darkness. Your wee bit of chi given by higher power at conception is all the light you need in the dark. Don't be afraid of the light, yet it is far more frighten for there you are the dark. When you are ready to lose yourself/ego you will be one with the Light. Soul does not contain ego. Light & Love Debbie Guzzi Thought provoking write.

Hi Nigel We have another deeper thinker here.A powerful message, I love it! The darkness needs the light to see, and the light needs the darkness to shine. Co-dependant within the balance of needing each other. A perfect example of what it means to accept/affirm the good/bad within us all. What a blessing you are here Nigel. Love Light Truth Patricia
