My Letter

Even though I had not met her
I posted off my sweet love letter
Paper, pen, calligraphy
With a broken little piece of me

My heart snuffed out, extinguished fire
Nothing left but to retire
But from far away you replied
How could such a request be denied

The simple things that I missed
Found so easily in this bliss
This is not what I had planned
My heart is held in your hands

Slowly my heart grows anew
Such a gift to come from you
And although we may never meet
My heart again feels complete
