My Journey Into 2023
As I look to 2023 I remember these,
Last three years taught me so many things.
I realize I am stronger than I thought.
I am braver than I know.
When I look in the mirror,
I see the face of courage.
The courage to never quit,
Even when I thought it was hopeless.
The knowledge of my strengths and weaknesses.
Through my blood, sweat and tears,
I have overcome this disability,
All because of a nasty little spider,
That literally brought me to my knees.
Hearing the words paraplegic was so scary.
Yet, I see the light and I realize,
The spider did not win.
I am a warrior.
I am a survivor.
I am walking.
So 2023 will indeed be a very good year for me.
I will finally be free,
Able to walk out of the same hospital,
Where my metal prison on wheels,
Guided me back in Jan. 2019.
