My Journey Home

My journey home is closer today,

than it was yesterday.

Someday my heart aches and pain

will pass me by.

My journey home will be a

most beautiful trip,like no one

has ever taken before.

Mother has been waiting for me,

there on those goldend shores,

ever since her parting from this old world

many years ago.

Taking one day at a time,

until I take my

journey home, when I sit down

with my Lord and thank Him

for what he did for me

on Calvary that day so long ago.

Inspirational James.. makes one think of our final destination ..for each of us.. beautiful expressions luv.. well I don't recall the gas being that cheap in 1966 ..I was only 7 so did not pay much attention back then.. but loving that decade where everyone seemed so happy and carefree and the music was so great and everyone was kinder way back then.. has progress changed us that much luv?

You know James, I don't often admit this, but this poem really hit me hard. It might have to do with being a CNA and remembering some last moments with people, or missing my own grandparents. This is a remarkable work of art you have written my friend. Thank you so much for all your kind reviews and please continue to write. You have a gift like no other. God Bless. R.M.
