My Journey

Being restless
Made me hard to hold onto
I was born to be loved but not made to stand still
Darkness seeks light despite will
Constantly calling for the illumination in me

But this light; to give, I gotta feed
And you leave me hungry
Don't get it twisted
I'm not so sadistic
To believe that it's all about me

Your path crossed mine so it's not over when you leave
This IS STILL MY journey
Even you
Can't take that from me
Obviously
Because you're gone
And I still got a story to tell
About the one and ONLY time I fell
In what I thought was love

I'm screaming for you to let me go
While wishing that you'd hold me close
Let me feel
Like time wasn't wasted
Like the love I was tasting is real

Oh how I digress
Saying I’m worth more
But acting like less
The high road is all that's left
With what remains of the heart in my chest
