I cried when I learned I’d go blind, it hurt, but don’t feel sad for me. To blame God, never crossed my mind, though shadows are all that I see. I'll miss the colors of sunset, nature's face craved in silhouette. The sweet smiles on my friend's faces, and the world's prettiest places. When I learned I’d go blind, it hurt, but don’t feel sad for me I cried. Never crossed my mind, though shadows are all that I see, to blame God. Even now, I’m not without light, for I’ve retained my inner sight. (Charonnet) 09/02/2020
