My Home

So what happens to love 
After sixty-one years
Wed to the same special one?  
Do hearts still beat strong?
Do feelings burn bright, 
Do flames still ignite,
Two souls feel the aura
And glow for so long?

If the platform is firm, 
If the lives create joy,
If the prized give and take 
Command each new day,
Then nothing is changed-
But at times must arrange
To adjust to the troubles 
That stand in the way.

My dearest, my love, 
Many years we have shared
From that first day we met, 
To this one, we are blessed,
No matter what comes, 
Our hearts will be one
Growing older together, 
Our love is the best-

For when I'm with you-
I am home.

I can relate, though my husband is my second marriage and we have been together 38 years come December, we got it right the second time around.
