My Hidden Pride

Loneliness submits to me like a bride, Saying her vows and seeking marriage I can’t break those vows and promises I’ve uttered Spread butter to the toast – Reveal to me her story I’ll deal with being a loser… though I feel defeated At least I still have my inner pride… Submitting to me like a bride… Her promises will never die Maybe I should humble myself........

If humbleness leads to another choice in brides I say go for it! I like how you expressed yourself here. I agree with Scott, very entertaining.

I'm curious about what the circumstances were when you wrote this. I could be mistaken but I feel a hint of regret at the beginning and sense of unrepentant triumph at the end. It's cool how I was taken for a rollercoaster ride by your lines. LOL
