My Hero

To John Maartyn (Marty)

Just thinking about my hero makes me smile,
Of all the memories I now hold,
Having the honor of being his friend has turned my life around,
Now I know what Carpe Diem means.

Maybe it was the way he looked at me,
And how he knew I needed help and placed me under his care,
After he kept me from the depths of depression,
Realization of my deep admiration,
To the strong, smart, caring, fun, optimistic and life-saving protector,
Yet no one else seems to see him as I do,
Nevertheless, he knows he is my best friend, ally, protector, and hero.
