Paula Goldsmith Poet Free verse

My Heavenly Garden

As I throw open the curtains what do I see,                                                                              a heavenly garden looking back at me.                                                                                      The brilliant colors each flower is wearing,                                                                                some opened up as I was busy sleeping.                                                                                I grab my coffee and run to see,                                                                                                are there any butterflies out to welcome me.                                                                            I see one then I see two,                                                                                                          then wonderfully here come some more.                                                                                They have their breakfast of nectar and water,                                                                         I sit and enjoy their morning show.                                                                                            The sun is bright showing off my heavenly garden,                                                                  what a glittering backdrop it does make.                                                                                  Before I know it the morning is gone,                                                                                        it is now time for me to write some more.                                                                                  Today what can I write about,                                                                                                    I know my heavenly garden with its brilliant colors looking back at me.
