<3 to <3 My mom and her twin

Still in surgery, doctor sleeps. Blood red eyes, twin keeps vigil, exhausted and wide awake. Revelation under plastic — my heartbreak! Remember my heart stops beating, when your conversation stops breathing. I wring my arthritic hands. Hourglass - I beg more sand! Denied my kin and friend, A perpetual kiss I send. 1/17/2018 Sponsor: Laura Loo Contest: 10 lines, 5 words, Rhyme 2
Perpetual - everlasting, valid through all time, blooming through all seasons (Merriam-Webster reference)

Oh so heartbreaking Kim. 'Hourglass - I beg more sand!' such strong emotional imagery depicted in your poignant poem. Beautiful flow to your lines in spite of the five word limit. Excellently written. Best wishes for a win.. ~Susan
