shh, don't tell a soul it's only for you to find. the latch, broken, and I, the constant gardener welcomes the weary side. like sunlight through fog a touch of tenderness warms the soil. a desperate plea for rain turns into a gift of water for the parched earth. i used to sift the soil until it was bare, now my heart is a secret garden where fertilized seeds of kindness grow and blossom, u n f o l d i n g like brilliant flags of colors across the yard; deep below, tentacles of love remain embedded into the soil, anchoring everything, i'm like ancient roots in the dark. as spring returns, the heavy boughs lean low, laden with the sweet fruits of life to be harvested by you.... each fruit ripe for the picking looking out over this wild crowded room, the earth breathes out a deep unspoken gratitude. come into my heart... and see my secret garden!
