My Gypsy Girl

Oh, where is she now, my gypsy girl
I sent her away, away from me
My heart is torn, the fault all mine
My love is taken before, you see
I tried to change it, to make her mine
My guilt, a knife stab to the hilt

Oh, where is she now, my gypsy girl
Two soulmates, two birds in flight
Forbidden love just seemed right
Tropical night, star studded bright
Where is she now, away from me
Illegal love not meant to be

Oh, where is she now, my gypsy girl
gone away, into the night
Desperate love, all departed
Heartache, heartbreak, mine alone
My cross to bear, the chains I wear
To change the past, an impossible task

Oh, where is she now, my gypsy girl
I cannot explain the pain I feel
For a love that felt so real
Years have past, memories faded, love never jaded
My body weary, my future scary
Oh, where are you now, my love, my queen.

Congratulations on your win with this emotional piece John! This poem would be more in the rhyme category. It is not a ABC poem my friend. This would be easy to edit and fix. Cheers, Connie ; )
