My Gp - So Kind and Understanding
In all the years I've had my stammer
no Doctor I've had has been as kind
as my present GP to truly understand
the needs I have help calm my mind
During one of my early appointments
he asked me what he do when I block
no Doctors had ever asked that before
felt real connection so easier to talk
Since then have felt real release
when I've had appointment to go and see
this GP, he so much made me at ease
even when cancer diagnosed felt so free
When stammer worsened after during treatment
he suggested therapy even though I not keen
so after persuasion I decided to have it
which initially at least progress was seen
Even in early days of Covid I had a cough
so got phone appointment for Dr to call
again felt at ease to speak with him
usually hate phone, speech no good at all
Such blessing to receive kindness
with understanding along the way
brings a peace deep inside
so tomorrow can be a better day!
(This is written to illuminate an experience I went through that showed me the kindness and compassion and warmth of my local GP.)
