My God, Thank You For Teaching Me To Do Your Will
February 7 Scripture Meditations Based on Deuteronomy 6-10
Key Verse – Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME TO DO YOUR WILL
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s statutes
Toward fearing You reverentially along what Your authority institutes
By keeping my heart to love You, appreciating Your attributes
Though sometimes, I fail due to doubts in those where my skill contributes.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s judgments
Toward honouring You sincerely along Your truth-prouncements
By humbling my mind to submit to You against humanistic predicaments
Though sometimes, I show arrogance in my sentiments.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s preachings
Toward molding me to behave attentively along Your watchings
By training my ability to serve You midst Your doctrine-enrichings
Though sometimes, I question Your ways in my searchings.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s precepts
Toward trusting You fully along Your principles and divine concepts
By strengthening my spirituality against carnality that intercepts
Though sometimes, I yield to temptations which my soul accepts.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s commands
Toward serving You diligently along what Your commission brands
By driving my commitment to continue against shaking sands
Though sometimes, I falter upon skepticism stands.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s declarations
Toward following You completely along Your laws and assertions
By correcting my flaws and errors, rebuking me of my transgressions
Though sometimes, I complain which I cannot deny in my actions.
Thank You for teaching me to do Your will’s standards
Toward delighting in You joyfully along Your safety-guards
By binding my all with Your salvation-blessings, free from hell-hazards
Though sometimes, I misbehave and forfeit my aspired rewards.
