MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR LIFTING ME UP
Thank You for lifting me up with Your might
Upon Your power of majestic delight…
Against intoxicating filthiness, obnoxious in Your sight
From weakening sinfulness toward Your righteous light.
Thank You for lifting me up with Your voice
Upon Your calling vanquishing humanistic noise…
Against alluring vanities of arrogant, yet shaky poise
From tempting worldliness toward Your holiness’ choice
Thank You for lifting me up with Your strengthening
Upon Your might of heavenly investment-shining…
Against crashing sluggardness along slothfulness’ pining
From debilitating idleness toward Your diligent service-refining.
Thank You for lifting me up with Your favour
Upon Your compassion of kindness of kind sharing endeavour…
Against poisoning hatred full of bitterness’ savour
From condemning failure toward Your loving care’s fervour.
Thank You for lifting me up with Your deliverance
Upon Your security-help of truth-endurance…
Against troubling adversities and vexing doubt-provoked ignorance
From deceiving adversaries toward Your triumphant assurance.
Thank You for lifting me up with Your forgiveness
Upon Your mercy of patience and gentle graciousness…
Against provoking transgressions caused by iniquities’ perverseness
From discouraging guiltiness toward Your complete pardon’s goodness.
