My Future Self
To my future self, wherever you may be,
I hope you’ve found the peace I now seek to see.
I do not know the roads you will cross,
But I hope to be there at the crossroad and not lost.
Reliving the past and dreaming,
Finding my purpose and meaning.
I hope to be embracing and savouring life’s gifts;
May the weight I carry today slowly lift,
And the pain that haunts me begin to heal,
Perhaps keeping me in a place surreal.
I see myself standing tall and strong,
Knowing that I weathered one of the worst storms all along.
I hope you’ll find strength in places unknown,
And feel the peace, knowing you are not alone.
The tears I shed now may water your soul,
Making you stronger and whole.
In your heart, may you carry the lessons I’ve learned,
And hope you find the will to live fully has returned.
