The word fondant, in French, means "melting," coming from same root as fondue and foundry. Interesting

Yes, thanks. This is the sugary cake fondant; you can sculpt it into a bow or whatever on a cake. It's kind of fun.

Not directly; they're all linked back centuries though. There are about a half a dozen different spellings of the name. Anyway, thanks.

I do too but, I like it with some cake inside; not those candied bars you get at the stores. My Mom had a great recipe also. Hers had cake too. Glad you stopped by.
