My Friend, My Love

The years have been kind to us
Though seldom were they lavish
We stood steadfast by each other’s side
The best companion I could ever want
Soulmates by any other name
On this journey we called life
Chasing dreams and aspirations
Sharing tears and laughter
Now looking back so fondly
As the end draws near
My friend, my love, my mate
