My First Pet


My mummy sees that I am smitten
With Bluebell my Siamese kitten
Bluebell loves to climb onto my lap
Purring loudly when she takes a nap
Mummy changes Bluebell’s litter tray
She'll teach me to do that one day!

Just like a parent. Get the children to do the mucky stuff. Our cat, Dibsey, sadly lost to a passing car, had to have been the craziest litter tray user of all time. Shed kick up her litter like a mouse had just dived into it. Had to buy a hand held vacuum to keep handy. Used to look like the floor had been pebble dashed. Thanks for prompting the memory, Jan

Yes they are so independent not like dogs - wish the one that keeps pooping on our lawn would use a litter tray - its only been happening for about 4 weeks but I have to scoop it up about 3 times a week - not sure what i can do about it:-( hugs jan xx

Jan, funny that the poem (which is cute and wonderful) ends with a litter box lesson. It just goes to show how fun comes with some responsibilities. This has a great lesson attached with it. Smiles!!

Oh my, I want to pet that Snow-Siamese so much that my hand went to the computer screen. Since 4 years old, I have loved 3, the 3rd is still family, here with us. I guess the English call a litter box a litter tray? I enjoyed spending this time with you and your limerick. Love ... CayCay

I took allergy shots each week for approximately 18 months before my cat allergies stopped and allowed me to love my ground dwellers without such a love making me ill.

we've always called them litter trays lol I am allergic to animal fur but we did have cats when I was growing up. Poshpaws being the best cat we ever had. hugs jan xx
