My Firefly of the Morning
we waltzed to the moon
shined a new star
two pieces of a mosaic
moving together slow
the night burns into dawn and
i find you
my firefly of the morning
the trees jingle with the sound of their branches
stems glisten with the drops of new air
i make a circle in the window
espy ever living thing
a slow time awakening except for
my firefly of the morning
the clouds collect together
darkening the day faster
come to me
let me slow dance with your wings
hover around your instant heat
my firefly of the morning
