My Fire
I’m engulfed in a flame of fire,
These floating flames of rain,
Protecting me from all the hurt,
Protecting me from pain,
And they ballet across my skin,
In red and blue waves of light,
They dance and swirl, they whirl,
Dancing alone with me at night,
And I waltz in deft slow motion,
No shake, no ache, no more,
My soul sweeps and sways and hovers,
As it glides across the floor.
These flames ignite my all,
Give me strength that I require,
To live my life on the edge,
My soul’s power and might, my fire.
