My Fellow Poets

Dear fellow poets,
from all around the globe.
I'm here to bring you greetings,
and welcome you into the fold.

Some of you have just started writing,
and others have been writing for years.
May all of your days be beautiful,
and free from wasted tears.

We write for many different reasons,
some may be happy and some can be sad.
We sometimes write to express joy,
or simply to escape a life gone bad.

Some days will bring bliss,
celebration and cheer.
Others can be dark,
full of sadness and fear.

However they may find you,
be proud of what you pen.
Our thoughts are all special,
they come from places we have been.

You have been blessed with a gift,
a unique point of view.
You are a part of something special,
an elite chosen few.

I especially relate to the third stanza, starting writing poetry in 2013 when my hubby was undergoing cancer surgery has got me through the most challenging times of my life. hugs Jan xx

I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Cancer is a foul one indeed. It's taken both of my parents.
