My Favorite Things. ( Contest.)

Cookies and cocoa when you least expect them,
Your lover smiling, come hither, well.. ahem!
Finding that last coin to complete the roll,
these are some things that bring joy to my soul.

A warm glass of brandy, a fireplace burning,
A puppy you feared lost, a neighbor returning.
Your girl holding hands for a leisurely stroll,
these are some things that bring joy to my soul.

A day at the circus, a night on the boardwalk,
A brother, a sister, to laugh with in small talk.
A young kitten purring, wraps you like a stole,
These are some things that bring joy to my soul.

When I'm weary,
eyes so bleary,
I call each one to mind.
And then I will go
with the pleasure I know
that in each of these things, I'll find!

Sung to the tune: "My Favorite Things."

Hey, Gerard, you did the same as me. You did yours to the actual song melody (mine is called LIfe is a Ball) I hope we both do well with it this way! I liked the romantic things in yours. As for the LIon singer, well, it was one of the original singers. I saw online a picture of two brothers, I think called margo, last name. I believe it was a Margo guy. IT seems they were like two brothers together promoting a Xmas album when I saw them. LUv, andrea

I found myself singing along before I even realized it was meant to by sung, Gerard. You describe so well some of my favorite things, too. Especially that "fireplace burning." Terrific entry for the contest. Good luck! Love, Carolyn
