My Father

When I was lost in the wilderness, desolate and alone
It was his voice that called out to me
His hand guides me home
In spite of all my wrongdoings
He welcomed me with open arms
Built his hedge of protection around me
He shielded me from harm
In the midst of my trials and tribulations
It was his love that kept me strong
And in his word I found the will, and the strength to carry on
When my world was filled with darkness
He became my light
Opened my eyes to the truth
He restored my spiritual sight
He has loved me with an everlasting love
and prepared a place for me in his heaven above
He has given me grace, which is sufficient enough
He is the one I put my faith in, my certainty and my trust
He graciously created the heavens and the earth
And in them he delights
He holds ALL POWER in his majesty and might
He is Alpha and Omega
The beginning and the end
He is all I’ve ever needed
He’s my Father and my friend
