Thanks, Andrea. To me, Zen senryu sees the ordinary commonplace things of daily things in an extraordinary light. What can be more commonplace, and yet more important and extraordinary in daily existence than the things I have stated in my piece?

John, Thanks for your comment. You made my day. I had reservations about submitting this piece. Some persons with more "refined taste" may consider it crude but based on my understanding of Zen, from which Haiku and Senryu originated, this is what senryu is all about to me. "... senryû tend to be about human foibles... and are often cynical or darkly humorous and satiric..." (from Poetry Soup's definition)
