As I grow older, I often think of death as a nearer possibility . This is the Epitaph I wish to see written on my grave. We do not know how we are going to die and if at all there will ever be a grave to claim as one's own... Still..!

Below the vault of this cerulean sky In this solitary grave, let me lie In joy I lived and in joy I die And wish to see no one cry This you carve on my grave for all to see “Here is some one, though a small fry Had a heart as big as a mountain high Who with songs of love, every heart did tie”

Great thought on epitaph. The introduction to the poem is very beautiful too. Especially, "if at all there will ever be a grave to claim as one's own... Still..!" Congratulations!

Hello Valsa ... a fine epitaph indeed. I often ask myself why do we mourn a death when we could be celebrating a life - thank you Valsa - Lindsay

There will be no epitaph on my grave. Maybe my daughter will put a picture of me. I did so five years ago. I wonder if it is still there. I never go to cemeteries.

Here, in our church, there is scarcity of space. So the body is tucked into a hollow space and sealed for a year or so until another comes to occupy.... ! So no more tombs and engravings.... ! Thanks Victor

Hopefully not for a very long time Valsa, well written. Tom
