My Dream Within A Dream

Constance's contest, "Dream Within A Dream". Poem written: 09/14/2025

Falling, falling, gliding, boom~ land
                               My dream overtook me
Wonder enveloped through night's arms
Taking me home to see
A gentle breeze becomes the muse
               Through the endless dark night
Having a dream within a dream
     Moonbeams lead to the light

A wand was weaving stars
Their radiant glow kissed like dew
                     Inspiring my soul's flow
Reach, climb, touch, grasp hold, a breakthrough
Then the silent dawn cracked
I embraced my dreams in quick flight
Results being gob smacked
Now that dew adorns earth's soft face

Dreams revealed my unfinished trip
A journey needs to be taken
A trip within places
    That sometimes disgraces
Those silver threads stitched hopes and dreams
                 Are tattered with broken spaces
Gentle whispers weave light
Inspiring a poet's destined place
From dreams, sunbeams lead to new light

Your journey into the mysterious pockets of the night, your dream, then the break of dawn and the arrival of light, all these diverse phases of nature are beautifully melded into a dreamscape. Lovely poem, Sara.

Victor, falling asleep while trying to figure myself out and dreaming sometimes is very revealing. Thank you for the nice review and understanding. Oh!! I still haven't figured myself out at age 80 so it probably won't happen until Jesus reveals to me who I really am when the Bible says we will know as we as we are known. Sara K

So inspirational, Sara... And now, I am happy for you that you have dreams like this. For I am forever condemned, it seems, to dreams where evil people chase me, where I get lost in the worst of slums, etc., etc. Oh, well...

There always has to be at least one park with natural surroundings to visit if you have the time, Gershon, or is there? I have those horrible dreams from time to time but sometimes there are good dreams that have happy endings. Thanks for stopping by . Sara K
