My Dearest Friend

How often is it, That we have waved hello, Waved goodbye, And waved hello once more? At this time, I wave goodbye, And hide, My secret, locked up, hello. I often thought, As I watched us grow, This bond we wont forego. Heart beat rise, I see your back, My tears begin to glow. Come back my friend, Until the the end. Don't break the wedding vow. My hand reaches out. How often have we waved hello, Then waved goodbye? Please unlock, Your secret, locked up, hello Don't go. P.S. I have never been married lol the idea of ending one really moves me though.....but thank you for the support.

This is a very interesting piece. The title is appropriate. Husbands and wives should be dearest friends. This flow very well and contemporary. Great job and welcome to the Soup! ~Joseph

This poem captures so much longing for both love itself and the belief that love will endure. If you do marry, Ashley, I think you will go the extra mile to make it work as you already understand the consequences of a broken vow. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
