My Daydreams

I gaze from my window as I rest on the sill, With my head on my hands as the world lays still. The houses and storefronts, and mountains of men evaporate slowly from my eyes once again. Valleys with rivers and trees far and wide, Replace the tall buildings blocking the sky. My voice on the wind is carried miles away Unlike city echoes that drive you insane. Open spaces so vast they send shivers down spines, Only lonely to those who have nothing to find. I lie in the shade amidst blossoming trees And smile as the petals dance in the breeze, Feel the grass between my toes, Smell the earth in my head, Not the burning concrete Or the fumes that I'm fed Through my window I escape to places unseen, Outside of my world, inside my daydreams.
