My Day Began Oh So Well

My day began oh so well with sky of blue and sunshine too For one could ne'er really tell if this monster in hiding had been sent from hell Unseen by our eyes a monster despised Awaiting it's cue wreaking havoc destruction down upon me down upon you 'twas but a gentle breeze rustling branches in the trees Suddenly before you know it one hundred mile per hour gales uprooting the oldest and largest trees bring folk out walking down on their knees Objects flying all around folks they struggle to keep feet on the ground Pavements strewn with flying debris Legs no strength so down you go Gales they take you Gales they blow you Just like feathers from a satin pillow Desperately trying to reach your front door Vow ne'er to go out forevermore till this monster has flown till this monster has blown till at last you are safely inside your own home Safe from all hurricanes Safe from all gales Safely inside from this monster from hell *************** ~~~ My day began oh so well ~~~ Written 19th February 2022 ~ after experiencing this monster from hell...

Hi Ann….a perfect well described poem about strong winds ,gales which I could relate to. My fear is gale force winds it scares me big time.I actually had an anxious butterfly stomach reading this….so I think that’s a good sign for your poem Haha!!! Debx

Fine piece Ann with good rhyme and flow, it must have been really frightening these storms. We never had it too much up here as it was the north of Scotland that got the worst of it. Take care and stay blessed always. love and blessings, Gordon x
