My Date With Kevin

We went to the movies
His hand was in mine
Then we headed for home
Though it wasn’t quite nine.
We headed towards sunset
And talked in low tones
We sat on the curb
And ate ice cream cones.
When we got to his house
I kissed him goodnight
I asked If he’d call me
He said that he might.
His parents were watching
For him to arrive
He’s my favorite cousin
Even though he’s just five.
