My Confession
I sit in the dark on so many nights,
your words flooding over me.
You vocalize emotions that soothe my tortured soul.
We are sharing a balance of being,
knowing all is well in the world.
Humor being the great release of our pent up frustrations-
memories being made over miles,
confessions of our desires spoken.
Realizations of all we want, of all we would like
and deserve finally out in the open.
Patience in our minds fighting over
the demands of our hearts spew forth.
There's battles to ensue regardless of the paths we take;
readiness for these a fleeting ghost though.
It flutters between our words.
Ignorance being bliss in our private world,
the openness of our hearts, lacks conscious vision.
The deep honesty we share, pinpricks and all,
locking our spirits tightly, weaving it together; forever.
We know our love is going to be enough.
My deepest desires of never letting go,
of never turning away is overpowering all else.
My love for you defying all logic and reason,
awaits your arrival into my arms.
The smile in my soul awaits your return.
I have grown to appreciate the serenade of your words,
the rumble of your laugh, and the beauty of your silence.
The ignorance be damned, my patience shall win,
my love for you is steadfast.
My own confessions breaking through the doors.
I waited my entire life to know love.
I searched to find the one kindred spirit,
who completes and fills me.
I know regardless of the obstacles ahead,
in my arms is where you will find final peace.
