My Company

Oh words on paper come to me My solace and comfort. My company O God I Pray to thee: For strength in eye to follow the track Not peering around and always looking back But curiosity has so killed the cat So long ago and there he sat Riding the fence while all along Praying for the wisdom to be so strong For strength in heart to jump over that fence But venture out I have not hence Tell me now why I want to hear That sweet whisper there upon my ear And look to all directions and all there is To find that oft searched for bliss Left alone so long to my own device Found Peace within that does suffice After a stretch and a period of time Why does a longing emerge from this heart of mine Oh words on paper come to me My solace and comfort. I need company

Words help... And then, happiness is found not only through solitude and words, but through God in Heaven to the true eternal companion made just for you. Be prepared. Reading your poetry today has been a pleasure. And thank you for your comments on my poetry as well. Have a super Day! Lovingly, Dane Ann

I would work on getting some kind of rhyme sequence (ABAB, AABB, etc) OR chosing "slam" as a form.
