My Christmas Gift To You

Dear Jesus,
You know many people have always hurt and hurt me.
They have made me somewhat cold and bitter. I say
I forgive them but I allow their hurt to impect my life.
Causing destructive behavoirs with others and with
myself. My present to you is to love myself as you would
love me and make sure I don't let others pollute me.
Emotional and physically scars still linger and may
always be present; but i don't have to allow them to
hurt me and my relationships with others and especially
you. I no longer hate anyone no matter what they may
have beat me and made me cry.I deal with what has
happened to me because it makes me strong. I know you
want me to be strong, and without them breaking me down
I wouldn't be this way. So no matter what they did I love
them as I would my own siblings.

                                                                     -Love Emily :)

Forgiveness is one of the greatest virtues, Emily, and it's refreshing to read a poem that focuses on its amazing healing power. Your letter to Jesus is very moving! Have a blessed holiday season, Carolyn
