My Cat Is Smarter Than Me

It is a hard thing to admit, But I have to take the hit, As I can't make the facts fit anything else, If I want the truth to sit, Rather than stand up and spit. Our cat learned in three years, What I learned in thirty three, plus a few tears. Our cat has a better set of ears, As dinner for me just appears. Our cat knows when to to make itself scarce, While I, have all the makings for a farce. Our cat is wise enough never to trust a dog, While I, still walk in the fog. Our cat goes walkabout when it feels like it, We talk about it happening one day if we feel fit. Our cat knows the best time to take a nap, Without causing a flap. When I decide to take a nap, I keep hearing a dripping tap, Or a fly that has come in the door with the cat. Shall we let it go at that, Before this poem falls flat.

oh they are such clever animals, your rhyme is charming and fun, hope all good with you, I see lockdown is easing for you as it is here but we are not allowed to go in houses have to be 2 m away from friends as we were in their gardens. cant see mum of course but that is for the best, just take care and look after yourself. i worry we are going too fast - some more shops re opening next week.. only time will tell if the numbers start to climb now:-( hugs Jan xx

Yes Indeed. We have had many cats over the years but this one outshines them all. We are carefully starting to come out of lockdown here. Back down to level two but borders still closed to all but returning citizens and only aloud groups of ten. Stay safe David
