My Cartoon

I'm but a face on the wrong side of a foggy window. I'm but a shadow who dances in the headlights at night. So while you're lying there, wondering if I will ever let go, Would you just try to shut your eyes and pretend that it's alright? I fog the glass with my breath that smells of cinnamon and merlot. I know you dream of morning dew that smells along the same lines. But dear, your lips, they taste like bright red candy canes and Jane Doe And minty rain falls on your panes at night. I'm but a shell of what once was, Don't think about me too much. And while you're on the inside dry, Just turn your head as I pass by. You're like a circus darling, lights and sounds and ringing in my earlobes. You're like a zoo, not to be rude, but my, the girls you like are crude. So while you kiss your lovely ape you've brought home late in her street clothes, Hope you don't mind if I rewind to the night I shared with you. I'm but a shell of what once was, Don't think about me too much. And don't you dare change your address, I'll find you dear, you'd be impressed. Breathe deep as you snooze in your curtainless bedroom. I'm but a shell of what once was, Don't think about me too much. I'm just a shell who's dead to you, so I'll just watch you, my cartoon.
