My Breath of Nature
Breath of Nature by Nambumyeon Geoje Gyeongsangnamdo
Did you know how often I think of you?
Holding my tongue seems a crime.
Dare I tell you I find your eyes now
shimmering in the summer rain, or
how you are my burst of colors in spring?
As dusk settles in my sights, your smile
shines down on me in the moonlight.
If I touch a rose soaked in sunlight
sublime, I feel the warmth of your hand in mine.
In Winter, you are a snowflake dancing
on air, then melts on my tongue
and we become one.
In Autumn, you are a golden leaf
hanging near me on the breeze.
As I admire your lines from tip to blade,
I wait for you to brush against my cheek.
You are everything beautiful in my sight
I seek your spirit in nature's breath,
I inhale your essence.
I meander in your mystique.
It seems you are a gift God brings to me each day -
in water, earth, fire, sky
I will carry you with me until I die,
and even then
you will be the elements in which I remain.
