My Box of Broken Dreams

«¤» My Box of Broken Dreams «¤»

Alone at night,
Standing in the wind,
The stars upon high,
Are my only light

Gathered my tattered box,
My box of broken dreams,
Inside a hole,
I bury it deep

Haunted by hopes,
Unfulfilled,
Its silence screams,
Of what was lost

With head tilted high,
My heart grows heavy,
Saddened with grief,
I ask myself why

A dream once focused,
Clearly,
Is now buried,
Inside a gilded box,
My box of broken dreams
