My Blue Cheese Is- Tripe

when it comes to food my biggest gripe
is how anyone can eat disgusting tripe,

lining of the stomach of ruminant cows
gastric juices of mine would not arouse,

if I was served this awful food on a plate
I would decline this just couldn’t be ate,

when it’s cooking can’t stand the smell
like something eaten by someone in hell,

tripe is not a delicacy for rich or poor
serve me rubbish I’ll show you the door.

Congratulations on the win, Roy! (You have to cook it in a spicy, tomato sauce with lots of pieces of pork sausage! And it has to be cooked by a little old Italian Grandmother!) ...Fran

Thank you so much for your congratulations Fran, I’m sure if it was cooked as you have described it would taste wonderful but just knowing what it is and how it looks would be enough for me to decline, thanks again for your support much appreciated. :))

Hello, Roy. Congrats on your win in Kevin's contest. Your poem reminded me of that awful smell when my gramma boiled tripe half a day for my grandfather. I tried not to visit if tripe was cooking as it made me gag. Your poem Is well read as your words are well said. Best to you. Janece

I am the ONE who loves Tripe! Love it, sometimes crave it. First ate it as a small child so it seemed a normal thing to me, but then my parents had pig's feet in the refrigerator. Anyway, what I want to say is I enjoyed the rhyme, flow and telling in your poem. It is very good. Now, I've got to go fry gizzards for dinner. Kidding. CayCay

The tripe definitely looks bad..the look, the smell, the taste..all bad. You made your point with this poem, Roy.
