'my Best Friend'

My mother said "it's ok,
When I got less marks in the exam.

She said it's ok,
When I was in trouble.

She said it's ok,
When I did some mischief.

She said it's ok,
When I regretted for something.

She said it's ok,
When I forgot her for some time.

She is my best friend 'amma',
For she will say the same ever.

But I fail to say it's ok
To my son and fear
He'll select another as best!

A warm welcome to poetry Soup Litty. With such a large group. Of about 30,000 poets I will not promise to read every poem that you post but I sure will try to respond as much as I am able. I enjoyed reading your first post and I look forward to reading more. Being a good parent is one of the most difficult jobs there is. Blessings and Aloha, Connie

it's ok to say, it's ok, but fear that we might say it the wrong time when they need guidance. Welcome Litty. Hugs a new friend

Litty, SO nice, to see this One, hope to see more than juSt One. :), Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Wonderful poem-meditation on the habit of new education, self-education and less understanding between generation. I enjoyed your verse because they have the simple wisdom of love. Congrat. There was a movie called Pollyanna, in which a little girl taught everybody the play of happiness. Also, serial called Decalogue by Kieslowski in which a scientist is asked by his little boy what is God. The man could not find the proper words, but his sister embraces her nephew, that is tenderness, love.
