My Best Friend
Before I fall asleep your the last thing on my mind,
the only one I dream about hoping to awake to find,
The only one I see when I'm going about my day,
However, when I try to begin to tell you this I find the words I cannot say,
I find I'm choking on those words; ignoring any emotion,
But the more and more I push away I hear my heart has spoken,
Telling me to let you in and to stop building up a wall,
but the reason that I do is because I know without it I would fall,
this is the reason you find me hesitant standing an arms length from your hand,
I watched it all come together but for it I never planned,
Never knew I could feel like this so strongly for a man,
So from a distance I just watch; from my held ground I continue to stand,
Contemplating what I should do if I should take one step closer,
because I rather watch from a distance if too many steps means It's over,
I don't want to lose that breathless moment I feel when I hear your voice,
That is something I wish to always keep if I have the given choice,
Given the choice I would choose to tell you I love you to no end,
Your more than just a lover ...your my everything...my best friend.
