My Balloon To the Moon

Aboard my hot air balloon
I rose above the crowds.
They receded far beneath me,
As I drifted through the clouds

Higher still, I went.
Up through the atmosphere,
Ascending through an azure sky,
The earth now disappeared.

I saw the sky was full of stars,
I gazed from my balloon.
Here I was, in outer space
And heading for the moon.

I peered through my telescope,
And focused it on Mars.
I'd briefly pay a visit,
Then head out to the stars.

I don't know when I'll return,
It probably won't be soon.
For I'm off to tour the universe,
In my hot air balloon.
