My art

I pray I never see the day I'll lose the art
The day I'd lose my heart,
To keep putting peace to chaos
And make sense of it all

Cause art had me when I didn't have myself
Art had me when I was broken
When all I wanted to do was float by
But it had other hopes for me as it kept pushing me upstream

Cause I was to reach the calmer waters
Cleaner waters where I could protect the source
Cause they were sure I'd let the taps run to every home
My win would overflow to everyone

Cause I know what it feels like to lack
I know what it feels like to keep going,
Even when you're out of your rope
But you believe it would keep going

I pray I never see the day I'll lose the art
Cause that day I'll have lost my heart
For I pump with it and it's not just me
I pump for a whole generation

Cause art had me when the world didn't have colour
Art had me when I felt uninspired
When all I wanted was to live out this life
In the confines of simplicity while life had so much for me
