if i have ever stepped on your tiny toes
or acted just like one of your fury foes
the blame is not thine
the shame is all mine

if i have crushed your tender heart's crust
or betrayed your last but only one trust

or acted in a manner unrefined and crude

but never introduced you to Christ my beginning and end
