My Amphetamine

Enantiomers do not make my amphetamine.
No cognitive enhancers do I need.
Don’t bother giving me that crazy Benzedrine.
Imagination was my mind’s first seed.

I need no extra sleep; I’m sufficiently awake.
I”m not depressed; no euphoriant for me!
My needs are met; I sure want nothing fake.
I get high on life and poetry!

If only those who need to hear these words would listen. Then truly you're poem would be a blessing. May God whisper this into their souls. <3

Wise words, particularly to those tempted to chemical accelerators. Nice one, Andrea

Poetry as amphetamine. I never thought about it like that. But when I have not written anything for a day, I feel somewhat empty. Happy Easter, Kai

Based on your number of poems there is clear evidence that you are addicted. You chose your addiction well.

We're all much better off without the chemical brain-benders. Well penned. Good luck with the contest.
