Notes About The Poem

My Addiction Is Her

Hooked, addicted to feeling this way,
Wanting for nothing more than,
The white that fades to absolute black,
Helping me understand,

All my hurt, my wants, my needs,
Painted in dark on the wall,
Painted with lines made out of pain,
From big right down to the small,

This painting of her, her eyes and lips,
Addict me to all I can see,
Addict me to everything painted in black,
She’s the ache inside all of me,

Because she is my ghost, my beautiful shadow,
She’s the one I can’t hold,
She’s my painting in black, up on my wall,
My chillingly beautiful cold.
