Musical Magic
“Read a book” I was told when alone,
“Get yourself into the page,
Be with the hero written in words,
Walking beside him on stage”,
But once I’d read it I just sat in the quiet,
Not wanting to read it again,
I wanted something to last more than one go,
And that’s the climactic point when,
I reached to my library of favourite bands,
Pressed play to the songs that I know,
And sat for some hours, relaxing with tunes,
That where fleetingly fast to slow,
And these tunes I’d heard so many times before,
So many times when I was alone,
These tunes I call and listen to often,
They’re my repeatable friend when I’m home.
