Music To My Ears

At times, they come so few and far between... my heart stops still until they start again. Eyes open in the dark, I calmly wait until I know for sure that all is fine. Those seconds that creep by are difficult... I panic, as they seem to last so long. Then, suddenly...release from Apnea... sound of his breaths...such music to my ears. February 15, 2019

I remember, after my wife had been in the hospital 108 days in 2002, waking up several times in the middle of the night, just to listen to her breathing, so, I get this one! Such a powerful little piece -- 'eyes open in the dark, I calmly wait' Peace and Blessings. There ARE little devices that are less of a pain than a C-PAP that help keep the airways open...

Oh my, Sandra! I was so wrapped up in the story behind your poem that I didn't see the ending coming. Can't imagine the fear of being next to someone who has sleep apnea. Very creative take on the contest for hearing him breathe surely must have been music to your ears. Way to go! Best wishes in the contest. (Two US contest winners received their prizes. Hope you get yours today if you haven't already received it.) Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn, for the 'very creative take' comment! More true than creative, I'm afraid! As I said in my Soupmail, I love the jewelry, and I thank you so much! Hugs, Sandra
