Notes About The Poem

MUSIC BOX IN AN EMPTY ROOM
music box spins
notes drift like rain
wanders through walls within
echoes through evening’s grain.
room empty of former grace
but remembers who once stayed~
child’s laughter lingers in the space
mother’s humming folds into shade.
melody grows thin, thinner still
air holds itself tight
to trembling rise and gentle trill
flickering like a candle at night.
final note dissolves away
yet silence still has something to say.
